Director. Producer. Screenwriter.

I’m a Jamaican-American writer, producer, and director originally from Miami, Florida. There, I got my start in storytelling as a news writer at a local TV station.

OVER the wall
Tribeca debut.

I am honored to have its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June, 2023. I served as director, producer and screenwriter for this, my most recent project. “Over the Wall” is a short film follows Brehanna Daniels, the first Black woman tire changer in NASCAR.

The 1619 Project

The 1619 Project Documentary

More recently, I was manager of production for “The 1619 Project Documentary Series,” a HULU documentary series based on materials drawn from The New York Times Magazine and Nikole Hannah Jones’ acclaimed “The 1619 Project.”

Disrupt and Dismantle, BET Documentary

In 2019, I produced the short films “A Quality of Light,” and “Spit on the Broom,” which have screened worldwide, including at the Guggenheim Museum, the New Orleans Film Festival, Doclisboa, and Blackstar Film Festival. In 2020, I produced and directed the final episode of the BET documentary, “Disrupt and Dismantle,” with Soledad O’Brien, examining the Black maternal health crisis in America.

My journey In
a nutshell

Since my broadcasting start in Miami, my storytelling skills led me down many creative paths, from news reporter in Reno, Nevada, to directing short films in South Sudan. My love of sharing stories served me well while doing some preaching. Then it was while living in Washington, D.C., that I started developing and honing my work producing films. There I launched my career as a documentary filmmaker. After living in New York City, I journeyed back to the West Coast and now reside and work from my base in Los Angeles.
